Love in the spotlight is not made to survive. Will we?

Blurb

Reed: Tate Aduma is a Hollywood actor that everyone wants and no one really knows. Our first meeting as young dreamers sparks a decade of incredible highs and lows.

I’ve loved him, I’ve hated him, and I can’t live without him.

But I know that love in the spotlight is not made to survive.

Will we?

Tate: Reed Larkin is the only constant in my chaotic life of movie sets, parties, and nameless lovers. But while being on stage is second nature, being myself in real life is a role I struggle to play.

Then I’m offered the biggest part of my career, working alongside Reed as my co-star, and my love interest.

This time, however, neither one of us is acting.

Co-Star is a best friends to enemies to lovers, MM romance filled with combustible chemistry, indelible love, and a HEA a decade in the making.

Blurb

Two conflicted military men. A longing for happiness. One Lonely Diner, where people often search for a recipe for love. (The food is good there, too.)

One man plays it straight. Another grieves over a lost best friend with benefits.

Everyone thought they were meant for each other. Lance, an Air Force computer engineer, and Ryan, a former submariner in the Navy and now a military college professor, are gay men blinded by the painful wounds of their past decisions. Both men are ready for love. But because of their pasts, they’ve slammed the brakes on their desires.

Now thirty years old, a younger Ryan Ball decides he can be happy only by conforming to social expectations. So what does he do? He decides he must have a wife and kids. Though he acknowledges that he can never be straight, he is convinced that with effort, determination, alcohol and erectile dysfunction meds, he can play the necessary roles.

Vikki, Ryan’s girlfriend in high school and now his wife, begs to differ.

At thirty-one, Lance Dingle falls for his best friend and roommate, Randy, a stunt pilot who agrees to a friends-with-benefits arrangement. From Lance’s perspective, there’s a spark in their arrangement that Randy denies. Then, tragedy strikes. Lance finds himself alone and lonely, living with memories of Randy and an ever-expanding list of “what-might-have-beens.” Finally forcing himself into the dating scene, Lance discovers that Mr. Right is more elusive than he ever imagined.

Then, Callie Yenti, transwoman, drag performer extraordinaire and entrepreneur, enters the picture. She owns the popular Lonely Diner and possesses an uncanny insight into the workings of the heart.

Even the complicated hearts of her two hard-headed friends, Lance and Ryan.

An HEA gay romance.

Trigger Warning: This novel includes scenes from a sexual assault and a PTSD episode.

Excerpt

It was at this point—this question—that Ryan slammed both hands flat against the table. He heard Diamond’s short scream and grimaced. He lowered his voice. “Okay. Fine. The two of you want the truth? The whole truth? You’ll have it, then.”

He could imagine what Vikki would say. She would never have advised handling his parents the way he intended now.

Ryan inhaled deeply. “For years now, I have denied a big part of who I am. In my denial, I asked Vikki to make a sacrifice—a sacrifice of which she was unaware for years—while I sorted my shit out. A fool’s way of avoiding the truth. It took a stint in the Navy but finally, I did. I sorted everything out and realized I am gay. There. I said it. And I said it without fear or shame.”

“Oh, dear God!” Mr. Ball’s voice boomed, echoing against the walls of the dining room. “What kind of farce do you have in store for us next? That you’ve fallen in love with a sailor, and with him, you intend to live happily ever after?” A pause. Then: “Gay!” He spat out the word. “Another fad. Another trend. It’s not real. I’ve known men who thought they were homosexuals, then after years of lying to themselves passed, I discovered they were happily married with children.”

“How many people have you told?” Mrs. Ball demanded. “To what degree have you brought shame to this family?” And then, after a thought: “And what about Vikki? Can you say with certainty that you’re really Diamond’s father? After all, you’ve been at sea for months at a time.”

“Wait just a minute!” Ryan’s voice exploded. “First, I must say that your assertion is offensive—both to me and, I’m sure, to Vikki. Just because I’m gay doesn’t mean I can’t perform sexually with a woman.” He turned to his father. “Which probably is part of the reason why your gay acquaintances were able to pull the wool over your eyes so successfully. Being gay is more than just sex, you know.”

Mr. Ball glared at his son. “I am so fearful of what will happen to this country when your generation takes the reins.”

“Just—stop it! Just shut the fuck up! Both of you. I’m tired of it. Tired of the bullshit.”

The expression on both parents’ faces confirmed the fact that their son had never spoken to them using this tone, these words.

Ryan lowered his voice to a subtle whisper. “What Vikki and I are dealing with? Well, it’s our concern. No one else’s.”

Then, a voice. Vikki’s voice. Coming from the doorway. Diamond, still absorbed in her coloring activity in the family room.

“Please understand. Both of you. I was able to handle your son’s honesty. Was I deeply hurt when I discovered the truth? Yes. Of course. And I’m sure you bear some hurt of your own. But you should not weaponize that hurt into anger against your son. It’s important that you try to do what Ryan and I did. It took some effort, but it was worth it. With open communication and a willingness to be accessible to one another, we began to work things out. I know there are still challenges ahead of us, especially with our little girl. That’s uncharted territory, to be sure. But Diamond is loved. By both of us. We will still be a family, even when Ryan is in Florida and I’m here, in Virginia. We want both of you to be a part of our family. But that’s not going to happen if the two of you can‘t see your way forward to cultivate a little understanding.”

To avoid escalating the situation even more, what Vikki and Ryan did not say was that Mr. and Mrs. Ball would never see their grandchild again if they could not surmount their anger, doubt and resentment.

Excerpt

I could hear the door kick in, could hear the rush of them as they swarmed the house. “Move,” I whispered to him.

“Move?”

I grabbed his hand again. This time when we crawled, we didn’t have a choice. If they came with dogs, we were screwed. For now, we had a fighting chance. It was dark as pitch beneath the house, but there was only one way to go: away.

A minute went by, two. No one was following us. The sounds of the police began to fade, though I could still hear them inside the house. Sounded like they were searching for something. The pounding in my chest continued. “Where are we Adam?” I heard from behind me.

I stopped crawling. “Better question, are the police here for you or for me?”

There was the slightest of pauses. “Why you?” he whispered.

“Why you?” I whispered back.

He chuckled. All in all, not perfect timing. “I sure do know how to pick ‘em.”

I kept crawling. “To be fair, I found you.”

“To be fair,” he replied, “I chose to stay.” He sighed. “It was the old man in the store. Had to be.”

We came to the end of the road. Or at least the end of the tunnel. I’d say we were about five hundred feet or so away from the house and deeper in the woods. The tunnel was maybe two feet high and three feet wide. There were clothes stashed there, a couple of jackets, some money, bullets. This was my emergency tunnel. This was clearly my emergency. Or his. Either way, we were now both being chased.

I handed him the clothes in the dark. We got dressed and I pocketed the cash in my wallet, my wallet in my pants. I handed him his wallet. I shoved the gun in the backpack. We again listened for the police. By then, all I could hear was our heavy breathing.

“So,” he said.

“So?”

He tapped my shoulder. “You know how you asked me if I ever had a boyfriend?”

I grinned. The tunnel smelled like earth, but I could still detect the slightest scent of Tim. “You think now is a good time to revisit that conversation?”

I could hear him moving around behind me. I could hear the backpack scraping the tunnel’s walls. I heard it hit the ground. I heard him rummaging around inside it just before I saw another beam of light. Thankfully, it was his, a flashlight lit for me to see, the light now illuminating our dirtied, sweaty faces.

“You look like shit,” I said.

“I don’t feel a hell of a lot better,” he replied. “Will you be my boyfriend, Adam?”

I laughed as quietly as was possible. “I think this might be your oddest segue yet, Tim,” I told him. “The police are chasing one of us. We’re in a tunnel in the woods in the middle of the night. This is not what I would consider a romantic setting.”

He shook his head. He reached up and wiped the matted hair from my face. “Yeah, but will you be my boyfriend, just the same?”

I sighed. “Tim,” I said. “I’d have sex you right now if you asked me. I’d do anything you asked me, in fact. Ours, I would say, does not seem like a healthy relationship. So, yeah, that’s a yes.” I blinked. “There a reason for all this?”

He nodded. “I need to show you something, but I wanted to make sure it was safe to show you.”

“And,” I said, “you figured it would be safer if we were boyfriends?”

His nod turned shrug. “Sounded better in my head, but yes.” He leaned in, kissed me, kissed me again. “Plus,” he said, still panting from our recent exertion, “if I were to die, say in the next few minutes or so, at least I had that. With you.”

“I don’t think we’re going to die in the next few minutes,” I told him. “If they had found the tunnel, we would’ve known about it already. Pretty well hidden. You gotta know exactly where to look.”

“Or listen,” he said. “Because that does explain the groaning I’d so recently heard when I sat in that chair you moved out of the way before we ducked and covered.”

“Old house,” I said. “Groans everywhere. Besides, why even look for a hidden tunnel in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Seems to me, it’s not the first thought that would come to mind.” Which is why I built it in the first place. Apart from the obvious reason: escape.

“Still.”

It was my turn to lean in and kiss him, then kiss him again. Too bad the tunnel was so narrow, or I could’ve seriously had some fun him. Instead, I said, “Okay, point taken. In any case, for now, we are still alive and newly minted boyfriends, so, care to show me whatever it was you were going to show me?”

“Why are the police chasing you, Adam?”

“I killed a man,” I told him after the briefest of pauses. Felt good to tell him. Felt good to say it out loud. My belly unknotted, if only by a hair.

“You killed seventeen men,” he replied.

I shook my head. “I killed the eighteenth after those. And here. In the United States, I mean. And why are the police chasing you?”

With his free hand, he reached inside the backpack. When the hand reemerged, it was clenched around a thick stack of bills. I peeked inside the backpack, and all I saw was green. The forest around us quaked in apparent envy.

“I hijacked a plane,” he said.

Dylan Aylmer is a Hollywood actor struggling to make a comeback.

Falling in love with his ghostwriter wasn’t part of the script.

Blurb

Dylan: I’ve lived my adult life under the Hollywood spotlight, but no one really sees who I am. I’ve gone down the dark path of drinking my anxiety away, along with my career, but now I’m searching for the light again. My struggle to stay sober has me releasing long held secrets.

A contract to publish my autobiography means laying everything in the open. When I meet Max, my ghostwriter, I’m not sure how our collaboration is going to work. He’s a university professor from New York with more degrees than I can count and I’m a guy from West Texas that barely finished college. And he may be my ghostwriter, but Max is anything but invisible.

Intimate confessions lead to heightened emotions and an unexpected love that fills up all my empty places. I don’t know what the future holds, but I want Max to be a part of it.

I’m done hiding in plain sight. It’s time for this star to finally shine.

Max: I’m an established university professor and a celebrity ghostwriter. Why ghostwriting? Because it pays. And I need the money. My ex-husband likes to threaten me with legal battles over custody of our daughter and while he has family reserves, I don’t.

So I take a summer ghostwriting contract, a celebrity tell-all. I expect to meet another self-absorbed actor, but Dylan Aylmer doesn’t fit any pre-conceived mold. His eyes are so haunted that I can’t look away and now I’m curious to unlock all his secrets.

What I find is not only a man trying to mend his broken soul but a beautiful person that is so much more than outward appearances. I swore I’d never be vulnerable to heartache again, but Dylan has me breaking all my steadfast rules.

Am I chasing a shooting star, soon to be gone, or is our love the kind that shines forever?

Excerpt

“My part in this book deal is supposed to be kept confidential. There’s a reason it’s called ghostwriting. I hope to hell that reporter didn’t get my photo.”

The worst-case scenarios ran through my mind, but I forced myself to remain calm. We arrived at the gate and after we provided our ID, we were escorted to a private waiting area. At least in this section, there were two security staff on standby. Neither of us were in the mood for small talk and sat quietly until Warren entered the room a few minutes later.

“I had security escort that guy out of the airport. It’s all under control.”

“Are you sure about that? Did he get any photos?” I asked, concerned that my anonymity was no more.

“He didn’t, Max. And we’ve done our best to ensure your name is kept out of the press. That’s part of the reason why you’re working on a yacht in the middle of the Mediterranean instead of downtown New York. But Dylan is still a celebrity, and he gets attention, and yes there is always the possibility of news leaking. You’ve done this kind of work before, so why the concern now?”

“Usually everything is done virtually.”

“The in-person request was my idea,” Dylan replied. “Mainly because of the timing with my film and for other privacy reasons.”

“I agreed to the contract. It’s just that I have a thirteen-year-old daughter.” I ran an agitated hand through my hair. “You see where I’m going with this.”

“I do, but again, there’s no reason to be worried,” Warren replied. “It was one reporter and he got nothing.”

“If my ex-husband sees my name or my daughter’s in the tabloid news, he’ll flip out.”

“Husband?” Dylan asked with a raised brow.

“Ex. Is there a problem?” I said, turning in my seat to face him. Dylan better not have any issue with my sexuality, or I would walk out of the airport right now, contract be damned.

“Nope,” he shook his head and smirked at me. “Just nosy.”

I let out a surprised laugh, despite my growing anxiety.

“An honest answer from someone in show biz.” I placed my hand on my chest. “I’m honored.”

Dylan’s smirk faded as quick as it came, and I could sense the shift in his mood. “I can tell that you really don’t want to do this, and I won’t blame you if you want to back out. You have priorities you need to consider.”

The look of resignation on Dylan’s face touched something in me. That was highly unusual. My ex often accused me of being unfeeling because I didn’t let my emotions get involved in certain decisions, and maybe he was right. I tended to be more rational and analytical. So why this man, a stranger, should spark my empathy was beyond my comprehension.

“I’m going to hit the head before we board. Thanks for seeing us off, Warren.” Dylan shook his hand and walked away, leaving a vacuum of sorts. Like he’d taken all the oxygen along with him.

Warren motioned to the exit. “Time for me to get going. And stop worrying, Max. Focus on the book. That’s the priority.” He paused and shook his head. “Look, I won’t bullshit you. There’ve been many times when I wanted to kick Dylan’s reckless butt to the curb. But he’s worked hard for a fresh start. He’s got a new movie role. And the book. I want to ensure both succeed, and Dylan along with it.”

“I’ll do my best,” I responded as Warren nodded and walked away.

Part of me wished I’d never have to work with Dylan, but the bigger part of me called me a liar. I didn’t even know the man and yet I was intensely curious about him, and that right there made the writer in me stand at attention. There was more to Dylan Aylmer than a model pretty face and a salacious past.

It was those sad, hypnotic eyes. He’d cast a strange kind of spell on me, and I was determined to find out why.

One knock could change their lives forever…

Blurb

Knox Townsend can hardly believe it when he walks into Playgroundz Café Store #57 to find his old high school crush, Trevor Channing, working the cash register. Once upon a time, the two had shared a smoldering, passionate, once in a lifetime kiss while their prom dates were passed out and… never spoke of it again. Suddenly, Knox is Trevor’s boss and back in tiny Seaside, Florida for the next week to convert his cold brew coffee machines to the upgraded model. But suddenly, the only thing Knox really wants to upgrade are his feelings for Trevor, long simmering but suddenly reignited. This time, Knox hopes, for good!

Trevor hasn’t seen Knox in four years, ever since he left town right after graduation without so much as a backward glance, let alone anything as civil as a goodbye. Suddenly he is Trevor’s boss, in town for a whole week to oversee his franchise café’s equipment upgrades and staying at the same hotel where they’d shared their first, and only, kiss: the Seaside Inn. What Knox doesn’t know is that one of the front desk clerks is his regular customer at Playgroundz Café’ and, for a few free gift cards and extra soy whip on his daily latte, Trevor has just checked into the room next door to Knox’s. The room with the adjoining doors he plans to keep unlocked all week, just in case!

Excerpt

Knox slid close, if only to breathe in Trevor’s vaguely innocent scent and feel the heat wafting from his lean, tempting body. “You know what I have in mind, tease.”

“Listen, let’s not rush things,” Trevor chuckled wryly, enjoying his time in the cat bird seat. “I mean, you’re here all week, right?”

They stood halfway between the sushi bar and the hotel lobby, Trevor’s Jeep—at least, Knox assumed it was his Jeep, owing to the half dozen Playgroundz Café stickers littering the bumper—the only car left in the otherwise empty parking lot. “Fine, sure, if you’re playing hard to get or whatever, I get it, but you’ve still had, like, three carafes of sake, so…why not stay the night and drive in tomorrow when you’re good and sober, you know?”

“Hmmm, tempting,” Trevor teased, digging his hands in the front pockets of his faded salmon cargo shorts while gently drifting from foot to foot in the empty parking lot. “Even if I’ve only had two carafes and I could probably, maybe, kinda drive tonight.”

“Why risk it, old pal?” Knox murmured, clutching a handful of Trevor’s casual sea foam T-shirt in his grip and tugging him toward the stairwell that led to his room on the second floor. “Besides, second chances, right?”

Trevor rolled his eyes even as he followed dutifully. “Good thing the old Seaside Inn still has two queen size beds in every room,” he muttered, still playing coy even as Knox found it harder and harder to walk with every step toward the possibility of another dreamy kiss with his first, and most powerful, boy crush.

“Jesus, Trev, when did you become such a prude?”

“Hmmmmm, not sure,” Trevor mused as he drifted up the steps a pace or two in front of Knox. “Maybe the day you left town without a second glance, let alone another word. Probably then, Knox, is when I became such a prude.”

Trevor stood on the second-floor landing, turning slightly to make room for Knox. They stood, face to face, nearly the same height, and Trevor’s full lips, glossy and thick, aglow beneath the dim light just above. “This feels weird, right?”

Knox snorted, dragging the old school hotel room keychain from his pocket, the key dangling from the vaguely Christmas tree shaped plastic that still had the room number printed under the faded Seaside Inn logo: 224.

“Which part?” He drifted down the hallway toward his room, the air warm and soft on their skin as Knox slowly followed. “Me showing up in your café this morning? Me being your boss? Me being in town? Me drinking too much sake? Or, oh yeah, me staying in the same hotel where we first, you know…”

They were at his door now. Knox’s heart was pounding, his palms sweaty and hands trembling as he struggled to slither the key into the lock. It finally stumbled in, but they didn’t, the door only partly open as Knox felt Trevor still had more to say before finally coming inside.

“Kissed?” Trevor finished for him. “You can say it, you know? It happened, right? It wasn’t just a dream of mine?”

Knox nodded, voice soft and low to match his confessional gaze. “It happened, Trevor. I wanted it to happen. Wanted it to happen since that first time I saw you in homeroom.” He drifted closer, so close, on the empty walkway. Trevor was leaning back against the wrought iron railing across from the half-open door, as if waiting for something. Knox wasn’t sure what. Maybe even Trevor wasn’t sure what. Both of them, it seemed, were grasping at straws, cocky in ways neither of them truly felt, and shy in others. It felt like starting over, and Knox was as nervous as he’d ever been.

“Phew, okay, because…we never talked about it, you know?”

“I’m tired of talking about it,” Knox grunted, inching closer as he put a hand on either side of Trevor’s along the weathered upstairs railing.

Trevor swallowed. Hard. And loud. Loud enough for Knox to hear. “Me too,” he squeaked, involuntarily licking his lips. “So, what are we gonna do about it?”

Knox leaned gently in, winked and gave Trevor a soft, smooth, aborted kiss. With another wink he stepped back and reached for the doorknob. “Come inside, Trev, and find out.”

Blurb

Detective Quinn Hughes doesn’t have many regrets in life, but Sebastian Devlin is the biggest. As a cop and a defence lawyer, the deck was stacked against them to start with, but Quinn was the one who left a burning inferno behind him. Missing his chance with ex-Special Forces Commando Peyton Sinclair is a close second on his regrets list, but Quinn isn’t going to ruin the happiness Peyton has found with fellow police officer Will McMahon for anything—not even a chance at his own happiness.

Best friends Will McMahon and Peyton Sinclair have been hooking up for years, content with their arrangement and the comfort they get from it. When Sebastian—the hot lawyer they picked up at the club the night before—stumbles over a dead body in their kitchen on his way out, calling Quinn is instinctive for them. Years of unacknowledged tension between Peyton and Quinn is a sore point, but Peyton trusts that Quinn will figure out the mess they’ve landed in.

While Quinn tries to find answers, Peyton and Will quickly find themselves tangled in the tension between Quinn and Sebastian. They’re hoping Quinn can move fast—before one of them becomes the next dead body—but the situation becomes even more complicated when another explosive night proves that Peyton and Will aren’t done with either Quinn or Sebastian, just as much as the two aren’t done with each other.

Between the mind-blowing night Sebastian spent with Peyton and Will, and the fact that every time he turns around it’s either Quinn or the barrel of a gun waiting for him, Sebastian has never had more regrets. If he can survive long enough to get some answers, maybe the four of them together are going to be the catalyst for a future that’s more wildly different than anything they’d ever imagined.

Catalyst is a 90,000-word MMMM romance that ends in a HFN. It is Book 1 in an ongoing series following the same four men and their relationship. It contains adult situations, gun use, references to murder and drug usage, suspense themes and a character with PTSD

Excerpt

Will nursed his empty glass as he waited for Peyton to come back with more drinks. Having some drinks and dancing at a club was their favourite way to unwind after a long week. While they’d stopped pretending that they were looking for anyone to take home years ago—since their casual sex arrangement worked for them and meant they didn’t need to spend their weekends trolling for random hookups—it didn’t mean they didn’t like going out. Sometimes it heightened things later, when they made themselves wait before they went home to fuck.

A few drinks, an up close and personal dance, and they were ripping each other’s clothes off when they got home.

Peyton had been in a foul mood when he’d gotten home and Will had sucked him off in the shower, but it hadn’t helped much. It had eased some of the tension, but Will knew it was still there. Honestly, he wasn’t sure what Quinn’s problem was. They both wanted each other, so why didn’t they? Peyton had asked Will once if it bothered him, and maybe it should have—they’d been exclusive fuck buddies for years—but thinking of Peyton with Quinn had never been a turnoff. The thought of it had spurred on some of their hotter sessions together.

Will figured Quinn had to have his reasons, whatever they were. He would have appreciated it if Quinn had let Peyton know what they were so he could move on, but he didn’t know Quinn well enough to approach him directly. Their relationship was purely professional.

“A guy that looks like you shouldn’t be sitting alone,” a voice to his immediate left said.

Will smirked in amusement as he looked up, and then almost swallowed his tongue. Well, hello there.

Dark blue eyes—that reminded him a bit of Peyton, though Peyton’s were a little darker—that were shaped by sleek black glasses and long thick lashes. His bow-shaped lips were drawn up in a smug smirk. It should have been off-putting or smarmy. But coupled with the plain silver barbell piercing in his left eyebrow, it was making Will’s dick stand up and take notice.

He was bulkier than Will—which wasn’t hard, since Will was toned, but lanky—and filled his suit out in all the right places. He was wearing form-fitting black slacks with shining dress shoes. No suit jacket, which was absolutely fine with Will, considering that he had rolled up his sleeves to reveal smooth tan forearms. It was kryptonite to any human being with a pulse.

It was too bad that Will’s only plans included getting Peyton home and naked. Because damn, he was fucking sexy. Will couldn’t even remember if he’d been into piercings before. He was now. Piercings, glasses, exposed forearms. Will might as well have stamped “fantasy issue” on the guy’s forehead.

“Name’s Sebastian.”

Will smirk widened as he took the hand that Sebastian offered. “Will.”

“Is this seat taken?”

“Well, it’s—”

Peyton returned then, two glasses of whiskey. His eyebrows raised at Sebastian as he slid the glasses on to the table.

“Peyton, this is Sebastian,” Will said, smiling playfully.

“Hi, Sebastian,” Peyton said, in the same voice. He glanced between them curiously as he sat on the tall stool next to Will. He reached a hand over and placed it in Will’s lap, feeling the growing hardness in his jeans.

Sebastian put one hand in his pocket, smiling sheepishly. “Pleasure. Have a nice night, you two.”

“No, stay,” Peyton said. He gave Will’s dick a gentle squeeze and Will swallowed, heat rushing over him. He put his hand over Peyton’s but didn’t move it. “Have a seat.” Peyton used his free hand to gesture at the empty seat opposite them.

Sebastian stared at Peyton as he did. Will couldn’t blame him. Peyton was stunning to look at. All sultry eyes and delicate features. His shoulder-length dirty blond hair was pulled up in a messy bun, with wisps of it falling over his temple and forehead. The low lighting of the club only made his midnight blue eyes look darker, and his cheeks were still flushed from their earlier dancing.

“You can share my drink,” Will said. He took a sip of his drink and then pushed it across. He made a show of arching his neck back and swallowing, so Sebastian could see he’d drank some himself.

Blurb

Two teenage boys were certain they’d be best friends for life. They had clear paths planned for the future and they were ready to take on the world. All it took was one deep—very adult kiss to throw them off kilter and their plans turned to dust. One chose a path toward stardom and stage lights, the other stayed behind in their hometown to pursue his own dream of being a cop. Both hoped they’d see each other again. Neither thought it would ever happen.

No one can turn back time but perhaps the future can be altered with a little luck—and a lot of love.

Gamble: I was fifteen when I realized I was in love with my best friend, Bix. Since then, not a day has passed when he didn’t cross my mind. I arrived in L.A. at eighteen with nothing more than raw talent and a dream and then fell face-first into drug addiction. But not before my band hit it big and earned us awards and million dollar paychecks. Success was one thing, but I still wanted Bix and the simple life we once had growing up on Starfish Island.

Bix: I spent a lot of years worrying about Gamble. The entertainment news was great about airing his dirty laundry which kept me aware of how low he was sinking. Now I worried he might not survive. I’ve wanted him since that one perfect kiss we shared graduation night and I’ve wanted a lifetime of more with him ever since. Too bad I don’t see a way it’ll ever happen.

Possible Triggers: Mentions of drug addiction, overdoses, recovery, and also a gunshot wound.

Gamble on Me is part of the multi-author The Road to Rocktoberfest 2022 series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but why not read them all and see who hits the stage next? Hot rockstars and the men who love them, what more could you ask for? Kick back, load up your kindle and enjoy the men of Rocktoberfest!

Excerpt

“Bix?” W asked. “Is that really you?”

He almost stumbled over his own feet as he quickly spun around. Our eyes locked, and the ten long years evaporated in that instant. I held my breath as his gaze raked over my body. I felt his eyes on me as if they were fingers, caressing me to the marrow of my bones. This appraisal was far different from any look he’d given me. But we were kids back then. I barely understood my own feelings for W, so I could only imagine how confused he was about me.

“Holy fuck. I can’t believe it’s you,” W said, and then he barreled across the deck and flung his arms around me, almost knocking me down in the process. The woman started laughing at us.

“Well, I guess I don’t need to ask if you two know each other,” she said and giggled. “Oh wait! Don’t tell me this is him?”

“Shush you, woman,” W said, his relaxed southern drawl already reappearing. “How ʼbout you give us some privacy instead of playing forty questions?”

“Fine, but I’ll be asking the questions later,” Daphne grumbled as she trudged toward the French doors that led into the house. “I’ll bring out some lemonade, and then I’ll leave you be.”

W ignored her words and continued to hug me. He cupped my head, roamed my back with his big hands, and finally pressed our foreheads together, which had me holding on to him even tighter. I gathered his shirt in my fists, unwilling to completely separate our bodies. After ten years of missing him, I wasn’t ready to let him go.

            “I can’t believe you’re here—and I’m holding you,” W said. “I honestly wasn’t sure this moment would ever happen.”

“I agree,” I said wistfully. “I hoped and prayed I’d see you again, but I never thought it would be here in our hometown.”

“I let far too many years pass without contacting you, and I’m sorry about that,” W said beside my ear. “Fuck knows I wanted to reach out, but I was afraid of what you might say or that you’d hang up on me.”

“I would never have done that to you, and for the record, I would have been thrilled if you’d contacted me,” I said.

“I made so many mistakes with you,” W whispered. “Maybe now that we’re together in Palm Bay again, I can spend some time with you and explain myself and possibly correct some of my mistakes.”

“Don’t be so hard on yourself, W,” I said. “We were kids trying to figure out who we were and the kind of men we wanted to be.”

Can Sami and Joakim’s relationship survive accusations of cheating, a thrown wineglass, and eight months of silence?

Blurb

Hurtful words and a thrown wineglass in a fit of jealousy tear Sami and Joakim apart; fiery tempers and stubbornness keep them from making up. But then, after eight months without a single word, just as Sami is about to make the first move, Joakim shows up, eager to make things right.

Can they overcome accusations of cheating and eight months of silence? Are conversations, confessions, and planning for the future enough? Will the love they still share conquer all?

Excerpt

I must have stood by the front door like an indecisive fool for longer than I realize because Joakim steps out of the kitchen—eyebrows drawn together, asking did you sneak out?—and approaches carefully, as though he’s unsure of whether I’ll flee like a spooked antelope or attack like a hungry tiger.

When he’s within reach, he hooks his index finger in the belt loop of my jeans and tugs once. Gently. “Come, please. I’ve made tea.”

I don’t even like tea, and I don’t know why I drink it, but I let him lead me by the tiny scrap of fabric to the kitchen. I don’t object when he nudges me into my spot and hands me a steaming mug. I wrap my fingers around it and take a careful sip—he always makes the tea too hot—and the earthy flavor of the chamomile finally loosens my tongue. “What are you doing here?”

“I came to see you.”

“Why?”

“Because we need to talk, don’t you think?”

I take another sip and allow myself to look at him. He doesn’t quite meet my eyes and the lines above his nose have deepened. He’s surprisingly pale, which is unexpected for him in August after a warm, sunny season. He’s an outdoorsy guy, his smooth skin always turns golden in the summer, but looking at him now, I’d think it was February, after many long months of cold and darkness.

He presses his lips together as though he’s trying to stop himself from speaking, as though he’s waiting for me to say something.

And he’s right. I should say something, but I’m still reeling from him showing up on my doorstep when I was about to call him.

Has he, too, spent sleepless nights fighting with himself on whether to call or not? Has he felt utterly alone and miserable? Has he walked by my building, has he stood on the street below my apartment and looked up, trying to find the courage to take the first step? And if he has, how come he did it today?

“Why now?” I ask.

“It was time.” He shrugs. “Long overdue really.” He scooches his chair closer and lays his hand next to mine on the table, hooking his pinkie in mine. “We should never have let this stupidity go on for this long.”

The hairs on my neck rise to attention at his light touch, and I want more. I want his entire hand covering mine, his arms wrapped around me, his body crowding mine. I want him to stake his claim, growl at anyone who looks at me with interest, I want him to take my breath away.

My eyes start to prickle. I try to blink the feeling away, but my vision grows blurry, and I let my eyelids fall closed. “You’re too hot-headed,” I mumble, voice thick.

“And you’re a stubborn fucker.” He squeezes my finger.

He’s not wrong.

Neither am I.

“Eight fucking months.” What was meant to be an angry roar comes out as though I’m choking back tears. But I can’t be; I’m not a crier. I haven’t cried since I was five and fell off my bike. I didn’t cry when my grampa died, I didn’t cry when Joakim left—or rather when I realized he wasn’t coming back—so I’m not going to cry now.

Joakim sighs. “I needed time to cool off.”

“That usually takes you eight minutes, not eight months.”

“Would you look at me?”

I shake my head, refusing his request. The prickle is still there—more intense now— and I’m not risking anything by looking at him.

“My blood was fucking boiling, Sami. I was afraid I’d say something I could never take back.”

“So instead, you said nothing.”

“You didn’t say anything either.”

Finally, I find my roar. “You called me a liar and a cheat. I was fucking hurt.” I rub my knuckles over my heart.

“I was hurt, too,” he roars back.

Fast cars. Outlaw country boys. Snarky werewolves, vengeful ghosts, and menacing monsters.

Dawson King’s family has been hunting things that go bump in the night in Transylvania County, North Carolina, since before the Revolutionary War.

Dawson was never happier than when he was racing his souped-up Mustang along winding mountain roads and hunting monsters with his best friend, Grady. Then Grady fell in love with him, which should have been perfect since Dawson had already fallen hard for Grady.

But Grady was only seventeen, and Dawson feared that sooner or later, Grady would realize his feelings were just a first crush, and then he’d be gone, leaving Dawson devastated. They both needed space to figure things out. So Dawson joined the army, while Grady stayed on the mountain.

Four years later, Dawson is coming home. He’s more sure than ever Grady is his forever love, and they’ve both agreed to begin this new aspect of their relationship as soon as Dawson gets back.

Then Grady’s father is killed in a werewolf hunt gone wrong. Grady is devastated, and he’s throwing mixed signals about moving forward. Dawson knows he needs to hold off on this new thing between them until Grady has time to grieve. But monsters never sleep, and one hunt after another throws Dawson and Grady into constant danger, while tension and unresolved feelings ripple between them.

Making it even harder, Dawson’s got a secret. He’s dreamed of death omens—which point to something stalking Grady. Can Dawson figure out who’s trying to kill Grady, save his life, and win back his heart?

Plenty of mutual pining, hurt/comfort, spooky chills, sexy thrills, and a very happy ending. The Kings of the Mountain is the first novel in the series.

What happens when friendship becomes love, and you’re presented with seemingly impossible choices while the world is watching?

Blurb

What happens when friendship becomes love, and you’re presented with seemingly impossible choices while the world is watching?

Harvey, lead guitarist with Australian rock band, HyperOctane, thought playing at Rocktoberfest would be the highlight of his career. He didn’t expect a performance that would shape the rest of his life.

Ravi

Admitting his feelings for Harvey was one of the hardest things he’d ever done. Being rejected was crushing. He never thought he’d be living the same heartbreak years later after finally finding love.

Bo

He broke Ravi’s heart but he couldn’t ignore the feelings he had for Harvey. It wasn’t fair on Rav, and Bo knew it was for the best, but why did doing the right thing have to hurt so much?

Harvey

He wasn’t sure which was his biggest regret—hurting Ravi all those years ago, or more recently giving in to temptation and having a one-night stand with Bo. He’d always been close to his younger brother’s best friends, and now it seemed he’d messed things up with both of them.

Now all three of them must confront their feelings for each other. Why do things have to be so complicated?

Three of a Kind is a gay rock star romance featuring second chances, friends to lovers, and menage.

Three of a Kind is part of the multi-author The Road to Rocktoberfest 2022 series.

Excerpt

“I think we need to talk.”

Oh God. Ravi hated the sound of those words. They took him straight back to that night a year ago when Bo had said the very same thing then proceeded to break his heart.

“Okkaay.” He crossed to the dresser and opened the drawer. He fumbled with the contents as he willed his heart to slow down. Had Harvey sensed his feelings for Bo? Or maybe Harvey just wasn’t ready for everything that had happened between them. HyperOctane was knocking it out of the ballpark and there was so much opportunity open to him. I’m probably holding him back.

“I can see your thoughts spinning from over here. Turn around, Rav.”

He slowly turned and met Harvey’s eyes. Harvey patted the bed beside him. “Come over here so we can talk properly. There’s something I need to tell you.”

That little voice whispered in Ravi’s ear. He didn’t want to hear whatever it was Harvey was going to say. Just the idea of it sent a wave of nausea through him. Just when everything was going so well. Fuck, he’d been so happy lately. Still, knowing he couldn’t put it off, he forced himself across the room.

The mattress sunk slightly under his weight, echoing his equilibrium—he felt entirely off-balance.

“Why do I get a feeling this isn’t good news?” he finally said.

Harvey reached for his hand, his touch warm and familiar, but Ravi didn’t take comfort. He couldn’t, not until he knew what this was about.

“I’m not really sure how to put this.” Harvey squeezed his fingers, green eyes hooded, voice low. “I’ve never had to deal with anything like this before. It’s about Bo.”

And there it was. Just like that Ravi’s heart plummeted. “I think I know what you’re going to say. I’m sorry, Harvey.”

Harvey frowned. “I don’t think so. I—”

Ravi didn’t let him finish. He wanted to lay his cards on the table—be the first one to air his feelings, not wait for Harvey to confront him with accusations. “He’s such a great guy, and at first I was worried that our past would come between us and I didn’t want the friendship to be destroyed. I mean you and me, and Bo and Parker, we’ve been friends since forever and if Bo and I didn’t get along then it would have tough for you and Parker. I wanted things to go back to how they were before Bo and I hooked up.” Ravi sighed. “But when he moved in while you guys were playing up the coast, it was just so natural to slip back into how things used to be—you know, hanging out after work, doing household stuff.”

“It’s okay, Rav,” Harvey said, obviously hearing the panic in his voice.

Ravi forced himself to take a deep breath. Harvey didn’t look pissed which had to mean something, right? “But I want you to know, nothing happened between us.” He’d never do the wrong thing by Harvey, and he needed him to know that.

“But you wanted it to,” Harvey said softly, not a question. A statement.

Ravi felt his face flushing. He wanted to deny it, but he couldn’t live with himself if he lied. He didn’t want to dishonour his true feelings for Bo, and Harvey deserved the truth. “I would never cheat on you.”

Harvey lips turned up in a gentle smile. “I know you wouldn’t.”

“Are you mad?” Ravi asked, then held his breath, not sure if he really wanted the answer.

Easy Rian has been lead singer for Blinding Light since the band was formed. Through the years many things have changed. Not all of them good. When the lead guitarist leaves mid-tour, the rest of the band is left waiting to see if they’ll continue on to Roctoberfest, or if this is where their tour ends.

Liam Tarrant has been playing guitar for as long as he can remember. When he gets the chance to audition for Blinding Light, he jumps at the chance. Meeting the band is surreal, especially the lead singer, Easy. Liam has always had a crush on Easy, but he never thought he’d get the chance to meet him, let alone spend time alone with him.

Easy is drawn to Liam, no matter how much he wants to deny it. When the two are thrown together over practice and planning the upcoming tour, attraction grows between the two of them that neither can deny. But falling in love on tour could be what finally ends Blinding Light, and both of them will need to choose what’s more important to them. Love or music, can they have it all?

Blinding Light is part of the multi-author The Road to Rocktoberfest 2022 series. Each book can be read as a standalone. Hot rockstars and the men who love them, what more could you ask for?

Excerpt

That look he gave me. I knew that look. And right now, right here, I needed to decide if we changed our professional relationship forever, or if I actually behaved and didn’t fuck it up. “What do you want, Liam?” Christ, I hadn’t meant to say that, but now that the words were out there I found myself waiting for his answer.

“What if I said you?”

I reached out and stroked my knuckle down his cheek and he leaned in closer as his eyes slid shut. “Think about what you’re asking. This could be your big break. What happens if it all goes to shit between us and we end up hating each other?”

“You sound like this has happened before?” he said with a grin that made me feel things I hadn’t felt in far too many years.

“Maybe. Maybe not.” He didn’t need to know about all the random hookups through the years. Both bandmates, and fans. Some at afterparties, and some non-fans at bars. Lots and lots of randoms. “You’ve got that spark.”

Excerpt

Flashing lights broke Liam out of his gloomy thoughts. The tow truck headed toward him, then did a U-turn and pulled in front of Liam’s car, backing up until it was close enough to hook up the Honda.

The truck driver got out and walked toward Liam, who reluctantly got out of the car. Even though he had called for assistance and it was clear the stranger was a legitimate responder, Liam couldn’t help feeling jittery, with his hands sweating, and heart thumping.

Those reactions doubled when he got a good look at the driver.

Oh, just shoot me now. Fuck my life. Why did he have to be so fine?

In the glare of the truck’s spotlights, Liam made out all the important details. The man had broad shoulders, strong arms, powerful legs, and a solid chest, standing a good five inches or more over Liam’s five-foot-seven frame. Liam had thought he might be saved if the driver was ugly as sin, but he was out of luck. His face was as utterly lickable as the rest of him.

“You called for a tow? Mr. Reynard?”

Liam nodded.

“I’m Russell Lowe—everyone calls me Russ. I own Lowe’s Auto Shop in Fox Hollow, and tonight I’m your personal tow truck driver,” he said with a broad smile and dimples. The man’s sharp cheekbones, full lips, and strong chin were highlighted by dark brown scruff. Liam’s gaze traveled upward, surprised at gray hair flecked with brown framing a face that couldn’t be older than thirty-five. Green eyes made Liam wonder what kind of shifter Russ might be.

He swallowed hard and might have blushed when he realized Russ seemed to be checking him out too. No matter how attractive his roadside savior might be, Liam’d had enough man trouble to last an eternity, and he sure didn’t need more in a new town.

“Yes, I’m Liam Reynard. Just Liam,” he said, wishing he could conjure up the natural charm that had always served him well in community theater performances. His fox could be quite dramatic. But now, on the run, scared for his life, and in the dark with a stranger in the middle of nowhere, he couldn’t muster his usual flair.

“The engine started making strange noises, and I pulled off. I didn’t want to break anything.” Liam cringed because heknew next to nothing about cars. Admitting that takes points off my “man score,” doesn’t it? Then again, so does being a sports-hating, gay fox shifter twink.

Well, at thirty, I’d thought my twink days were behind me. But when he compared his own shorter, lithe, dancer build to the solid man-mountain in front of him? Yeah, twink still fits.

“I’m glad you stopped the car without waiting for the car to stop you.” Russ finally shifted his attention away from Liam and focused on the Civic. “Let’s get the tow set up, and then you can ride in the cab with me to Fox Hollow.”

The law is about how you choose to represent the truth. Love is no different.

Blurb

Hilary Whyte believes that he has left his teenage troubles—and the person who embodied them—in the past. He has spent a decade building his career as a defense solicitor, believing that despite his troubled past, even the worst human beings deserve justice.

Now he has a promotion on the horizon as well as a fairytale wedding to his film star fiancé. On paper, life couldn’t be better.

But now he is being made to represent Dom Gosford, the boy who made his adolescence a living hell, on a double murder charge, and Hilary can’t be sure he is innocent. As the trial approaches, the two men are forced to travel a road of discovery, only to find that the truth of their connection goes much deeper than the question of who killed Lizzie and Dean Wood.

Reader advisory: This book contains a graphic description of murder and references to suicide, pedophilia, blackmail, pre-marital infidelity, and child pornography

Excerpt

Dominic finally turned around. Hilary had told himself many times in the last few weeks that he’d forgotten what this man looked like—that he’d successfully wiped the image from his mind, along with the sound of his voice. But as he took in the eyes, blacker than midnight, the hard, almost cruel set to a jaw that would otherwise be considered handsome, it was like Hilary was again sprawled on the PE changing room floor, that same face hanging over his, bloodied lips twisted and mocking, his fist raised for another blow.

“So, it really is you.” Dominic didn’t speak loudly, but it was like a stone had dropped into the silence of the room. “I could have laid a considerable amount of money on never seeing you again.”

“Well, I guess we would have both lost that wager. Shall we?” Hilary said, indicating the sofas and coffee.

“I’m good,” Dominic said, lifting his glass. “You help yourself.”

Hilary sat, ignoring the coffee, even though his veins were clamoring for caffeine. Fear that the coffee pot would shake in his grip was too real. Instead, he opened his briefcase and began laying the paperwork out on the narrow glass table. “It probably would have been better to meet at the office for this—”

“Too many flapping ears,” Dominic said. “My mother-in-law has some trust issues, to say the least.”

“We can manage here if you’re more comfortable. But just so you know,” he said, pulling a device out of his case and laying it on the coffee table, “I’ll be recording every session.”

“Still have trust issues of your own, I see.”

“So,” Hilary said, switching the recorder on, not meeting Dominic’s eye, “I’m up to speed on all the known facts of this case. This meeting is for me to get to know your side of the story in more detail and to help you prepare for what happens next.”

Dominic gazed at him thoughtfully. “I’ve been trying to remember… What was it we called you? In school?”

“That isn’t—”

“Lilywhite. That was it, wasn’t it?”

Hilary took a moment to steady his voice. “Let’s get one thing straight right from the start, Mr. Hart-Gosford,” he said levelly. “Our personal connection is one of the reasons why Walter Gunnerson wanted me to represent you. But all he knows is that we both attended St. Edmund’s.”

Dominic lifted his fine, black eyebrows. “If the good Mr. Gunnerson knew the truth, he might wonder why you agreed to take this case at all…as I do.”

Hilary looked him in the eye. “I’m capable of not allowing the past to affect my judgment. But if you insist on bringing it up, it will become a problem. Understand?”

He sipped his drink. “I understand.”

A freak windstorm. A life-changing accident. An unlikely helping hand.

Blurb

A freak windstorm. A life-changing accident. An unlikely helping hand.

After years spent suffering under the weight of his father’s expectations, Max Castillo-Grant is celebrating his shiny new law degree by drinking, partying, and bed-hopping around Seattle. Max isn’t stupid—he knows the good times never last—but if the world’s going to bring him low, he might as well enjoy the high.

Six years ago, a broken heart and a deep loss turned Ben Greer bitter and reclusive. Formerly the life of the party, he quit his job, rejected his friends, and hid from the world. Now, he spends his days alone, working on occasional custom carpentry commissions, with only his dog, Judith, for company.

Two severe weather events conspire to leave Ben in need of a full-time caretaker for his injuries, and Max in need of a respectable job. Despite a rocky start, Ben is begrudgingly won over by Max’s good humor, and the two form a lasting connection. But emotional wounds leave deep scars, and both Ben and Max are damaged. Can they find a way to heal hurts that go far beyond the physical before it’s too late?

The second book in the Living Situations series, Bedside Manners is a gay romance featuring an age gap, BDSM, and 4-6 terrible puns about woodworking. If you like steamy situations, hurt/comfort, and grumpy mountain men, then you’ll love Ella Fenn’s latest novel.

Pick up Bedside Manners and let Ben and Max sweep you off your feet today!

Excerpt

Ben woke to the disconcerting sensation of a tongue between his toes. He sat up, yanking his foot away, and faced down the wet-mouthed perpetrator.

Judith sat back on her haunches and grinned, her tongue lolling from her lips as she stared at him with brown eyes that radiated canine intelligence. She was smart enough to know how to get Ben out of bed, at any rate.

“Menace,” Ben said, scowling as he scrubbed a hand through his hair. “Delinquent. I oughta take you back to the pound.”

Judith gave an impatient yap, her shaggy tail thumping against the hardwood. Ben glanced at the clock and yawned. “All right, all right. I’m coming.”

He rose, ignoring the way his knees popped and his neck twinged—forty-five was forty-five—then dressed in his standard flannel and jeans then navigated the maze of boxes that lay between him and the stairs. eBay purchases, mostly, things he’d intended to refurbish and sell but never quite got around to dealing with.

Judith led the way downstairs to Ben’s well-stocked kitchen, where he poured a bowl of kibble for her and got coffee brewing for himself before flipping on the radio.

“We’ve got a windstorm advisory for Seattle. It’s gonna be a nasty one out there, folks, so if you’re planning on hiking, maybe reconsider,” the announcer said as she detailed the day’s weather. A quick glance out the kitchen windows confirmed her words. The tall pines surrounding Ben’s isolated property were bending under the wind’s assault.

“Guess we’re staying in the shop today,” he said, more to himself than to Judith, who was still preoccupied with her food.

Not that staying in was a problem—Ben had been doing it every day for the better part of five years. There was plenty of gas in the generator and food in the fridge, so even if the wind blew the power down (which it had been known to do on occasion), he and Jude could stay tucked up and safe for a good long while. Not forever, but… well, forever would be the dream, with unlimited supplies appearing as if by magic.

“Come on, little girl,” he said, patting her head. “You wanna get to work?”

That got her tail wagging, and Ben grinned. He felt the same way about the workshop, that welcoming cocoon of sawdust and wood awaiting them across the drive. Originally, it had been a two-car garage with a mother-in-law suite overhead, but he’d converted the space into his workshop when he bought the place, putting up a carport between the buildings to link them. The shop was his sanctum sanctorum, full of tools he’d inherited from his father and some shiny new toys he’d purchased to make it perfect.

Judith bounded ahead, eager to get to her favorite place—favorite bed, favorite toys, favorite box of treats—and Ben followed, cupping one hand over the top of his mug, the scalding splashes barely registering against the worn calluses he’d built up over the years. No more than half the coffee remained by the time he made it to the workshop and opened the side door. Judith, true to form, was already curled up in her bed, the doggy door Ben had installed years before having allowed her ease of access.

“Shit,” he said, leaning against the heavy wooden door with a laugh. “That’s some gale, huh, Dorothy?”

Judith didn’t get the joke. Humor was wasted on canines. Harrumphing, Ben went to his desk, set his coffee between two precarious-looking piles of papers, and picked up the leatherbound sketchbook he’d need to continue work on his latest commission of six dining chairs.

Notebook tucked into his back pocket, he went to his wood rack, selected a sheet of oak, and eased it out. He whistled along with the wind as he brought the wood to the table saw that dominated the corner nearest the rack. An ancient relic, the saw had been his father’s, carefully packed and shipped from Montana after the old man had died a few years prior.

Ben flipped the switch that powered the table then got to it, carefully cutting the slab of oak down to size. It was rote work, peaceful in its way, and he lost himself in the rhythm, heedless of the screaming wind outside… until there came a bang on the roof so loud it made him jump. That was a mistake, since he’d been damn close to the blade. The torque of the motor kept chewing through the wood, and when it got to Ben’s forearm, the saw chewed through that too.

For any chance at love, they must first be willing to trust.

Blurb

A proud fallen knight, Gentry Patterson likes to take people under his wing. Gifted with an easygoing nature, he makes friends effortlessly and, thanks to his love of cooking, often invites his inner circle over for meals. Gentry’s favorite week of the year is the annual retreat for his race, where he’s reunited with the many friends and colleagues he’s met through the years. The only thing that would enrich his existence is his mate, but he has yet to meet him.

Newly resurrected Tobias Kinsler wants to put his training behind him and make his superiors proud. However, Tobias is struggling. He keeps it to himself because he lacks people he’s willing to trust. With a mere few months of life under his belt, Tobias attends the fallen knights’ annual retreat and discovers his other half.

The two men have a sizzling connection from the start and waste no time binding their souls. Unfortunately, they will soon learn that secrets lurk beneath their growing friendship, and those secrets fracture the tenuous bond between them. As they chart an uncertain future, Gentry and Tobias must decide if they’re still willing to honor Fate.

Excerpt

Toby was staring aimlessly when there was a distant ding of an elevator. To his shock, his dick went rock hard, and the thick, pungent smell of honeysuckle filled his nose. His head whipped to the right, and he saw that a brown-haired man who was probably three or four inches over six feet was stalking toward him.

As the fallen knight moved closer, Toby admired his broad shoulders and the sexy smile on his handsome face. Within a few feet of Toby, the man’s grin grew broader, lighting up his hazel eyes. He was Toby’s mate, and Toby was elated, but frightened.

“Hi, I’m Gentry,” he said as he stopped next to Toby.

“I’m Toby.”

“I’ve always been excited about attending the retreat, but I had no idea I’d meet my mate here,” Gentry remarked.

Toby loved the light smattering of freckles on his nose and cheeks. “It’s my first one.”

“You’ll love it. I’ll help make sure of that. The line’s moving,” Gentry remarked as he snatched Toby’s suitcase from him, flustering the fallen knight who was so unused to being noticed as anything more than a disaster.

“I feel like I’ve been standing here forever.”

Gentry leaned close, and Toby closed his eyes to better enjoy the honey and citrus scent of his gift from Fate.

“I got here super early so I could avoid this line,” Gentry explained.

“I’ll have to remember that in the future.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll remind you.”

The confidence in his voice relaxed Toby, and he grinned at Gentry. “I’m going to hold you to that.”

“We need to exchange numbers and coordinate our schedules for the week.”

“I guess you’re okay with the fact that Fate picked us to be together.”

With a nod, Gentry winked at him.

“You’re gorgeous, and I’ve always wanted a fallen knight for a mate. You get my job. We already have a ton in common even though we just met. But I want to learn everything about you. And I do mean everything.”

Although Toby had little sexual experience, Gentry’s flirting was obvious enough that he couldn’t miss his interest.

“I’d like to tell you everything,” Toby commented softly.

Forcing himself to look away from the pretty hazel eyes, Toby was somehow unsurprised by the twenty-three in roman numerals on Gentry’s shirt. It figured that he’d be paired with a possibly ancient and clearly remarkable fallen knight. His fear intensified, but Toby trusted Fate.

“You’re frowning. You okay?” Gentry asked.

“Yeah, I’m not a fan of lines,” Toby lied.

“Don’t worry, we’ll get you registered and settled upstairs.”

There was something about the way Gentry had swooped right in and inserted himself into Toby’s world that appealed to him.

“You’re a protective person, aren’t you?” Toby asked.

“I do like to feed my friends and help them with whatever they need.”

Toby shuffled forward again as the line picked up a little speed and tried to handle the wealth of emotions racing through him. It was imperative that Toby set aside his issues and focus on how lucky he was. Not only was Gentry handsome, but he was also clearly interested. His smile didn’t falter, and although they knew nothing about each other, Gentry’s presence soothed.

“That’s good. I can’t cook.”

“Don’t you worry, I’ll make sure you get to eat like a king. You’ll have to tell me all your favorites.”

“I’ve discovered that there isn’t much I don’t like, but I love a good steak.”

“Fate matched us perfectly. I can grill you one to perfection,” Gentry said.

“Next,” Venerable Knight Roman Calixtus called.

Toby was so lost in staring at Gentry that he hadn’t realized it was his turn. He fumbled to drag his identification card out of his pocket, and Toby handed it over to Roman, who greeted him warmly and asked if he required a key to a room in the hotel.

Gentry leaned close again. “You can share my room if you want.”

Everything was happening quickly, but Toby was ready to dive into their relationship . Fate had given him a gift, and Gentry was supposed to be his perfect match.

Toby grinned. “I’d like that.”

“Are you a bathroom hogger?” Gentry asked.

The Venerable Knight registering Toby looked away from his computer screen to study the pair when Toby announced he didn’t need a hotel key.

“I don’t think so. I pretty much limit my use to regular maintenance,” Toby assured Gentry.

“You two are going to share a room?” Roman asked.

“We just met, but Toby is my mate,” Gentry stated loudly.

Toby loved the confidence in his voice and latched onto it as a sign that his fear was unnecessary.

Roman smiled. “Congratulations. That’s wonderful.”

“Thanks,” Toby and Gentry said together, which made them both laugh.

Kidnapped by his idol? Yes, please!

Blurb

Connor Jenkins is sick of rejection. Now, instead of getting close to anyone, he lives vicariously through other people’s phones and webcams. Thanks to his skills, he always gets away with it.

Until he hacks his idol.

Brendan Shyth is haunted by loss. First, the death of his boy. Then the end of his music career thanks to a grief-induced drunken accident. Fringe science regrew his fingers, but he still can’t bring himself to play again. Avoiding his fans, the media, and his manager, Brendan hides in his mansion, determined to be left alone.

Until he finds his webcam on and realizes someone is watching him. Someone other than the ghost of his dead lover, that is.

Brendan has Connor tracked down and kidnapped, meaning to teach him a lesson. But the teasing brat gets under his skin in a way that no one has in years.

A boy in need of security. A ghost in need of acceptance. A man in need of faith. With a career, sanity, and hearts on the line, can these men overcome their fears before it’s too late?

Restored Ruins is the first book in the Gentleman Hackers series. It features a boy whose hair color never stays the same, a daddy who puts him in serious time-out, a ghost desperate to be seen, and an MMM HEA ending. No pianos were harmed in the writing of this romance (though they do make good horizontal surfaces).

Excerpt

Had he really been kidnapped?

First of all, rude.

He tried to blink the haze from his vision while he processed this strange, new reality.

Someone had actually managed to catch him.

Well, shit. Well done.

Connor started to sit up, then paused. Two things occurred to him at once. Three things, actually. One, it was somehow morning already. Two, he was in a bed. With some amazingly soft sheets, by the way. Damn. He was going to have to figure out what they were made of and get some for himself.

Not that he could probably afford them, but, hey, a boy could dream.

And, three…

He was naked.

Connor raised an eyebrow. Huh.

He stared up at the ceiling as he took stock of his body. The soft sheets cascaded over his naked skin, making him hyper-aware of every tiny movement he made. A slow inhale made the fabric brush teasingly over his nipples, and a slight shift of his leg had the sheets drifting over his groin. Connor squeezed his legs together. Holy fuck. Much more of that and he would be a horny mess, though it was already almost too late for that.

Connor paused, wondering if his kidnappers were watching him.

He bit back a moan at the idea, then muttered a curse and shook his head. He had to focus.

Connor drew his arms out from under the sheets. He wasn’t restrained in any way. There was nothing stopping him from getting out of bed and exploring the room. And he didn’t feel pain anywhere. Other than where the needle had gone in. That still stung.

Again. Rude.

Connor rubbed the spot and slowly sat up. At least his kidnapper had been kind enough to keep the ground from punching him in the face. That would not have been fun.

He paused, then probed all over his face with his fingertips, just to be sure.

Nothing hurt there. Connor: one. Ground: zero. Ha! Take that.

Chuckling to himself, he glanced around the room, trying to guess where he might be. It looked like a normal bedroom—bed, dresser, nightstands, lamps—but way more high-end than he was used to. Spacious. Elegant. Obviously expensive, but tastefully so. And it didn’t have the rubber-stamp feel of a hotel room. Connor had seen plenty of those—from casual hookups with businessmen just passing through town—so he would know.

But this was different. This was custom. Unique. This was someone’s home.

He looked to one side and saw a pair of glass doors leading out to a balcony, the view obscured by some gauzy curtains. Across from him was an open doorway into a washroom. Connor blinked. Holy shit. Even from that angle, the washroom looked enormous, and he was sure he wasn’t even seeing half of it.

On the nightstand beside him was a small computer tablet. When Connor started to reach for it, the device detected his proximity and illuminated the screen, showing him a home control panel. There were options for room temperature, dimmed lighting, and blackout window shades, amongst other things.

Connor smirked. Don’t worry, darling. I’ll play with you later.

He grabbed the sheets, meaning to toss them aside and get out of bed so he could explore the room more thoroughly, then stopped when he heard the snap of a key in a lock.

Connor spotted the door—fancy double doors, in fact—and watched them slowly open.

He blinked stupidly and almost laughed as a butler appeared in the widening gap. An actual, real-life butler. White gloves and all.

Before Connor could voice his mirth, though, the butler stepped aside and bowed his head deferentially, revealing another man who’d been standing behind him.

The second man took a few steps into the room, glaring directly at Connor.

Connor’s jaw dropped.

Holy shit.

Vesad Stromos. Right there. In the flesh.

He’d been kidnapped by Vesad Stromos. Forget just spying on the man through a hacked webcam. He was actually inside the famous musician’s house.

Day. Fucking. Made!
