A bakery barely treading water, and a pending business loan has omega Dawson sweating more than standing next to the kitchen’s finicky oven. Serving up the sweetest temptations should be his primary concern, but when news of his alpha father’s death falls on his ears, Dawson learns that he has been named as the sole heir of his ranch in the small town of Port Hope.

Selling the ranch could be the miracle he needs to save the bakery, but after a chance encounter with a rugged small town alpha, Dawson struggles to balance his goal, with the cowboy’s lasso tugging at his heart.

Alpha Wyatt is no stranger to living the cowboy life. Having grown up in the serene countryside of Port Hope, Wyatt spends his days training and providing care to his rescue horses. Rolling hills, fresh air, leather saddles, and his Stetson was all Wyatt wanted in life. It was all he needed—then he met Dawson.

As their passion burns, the harsh reality starts to set in. Dawson has a life to return to in the big city, and Wyatt’s a country boy through and through. Is the bond they have worth fighting for? Or are their roots settled in the thousands of miles between them?

Excerpt

He looked in my eyes as mine lifted, the smile on his lips subtly bold, though the slant of his shoulders remained hesitant. The signals confused me even as they roused something protective. I knew he wanted me; it was in the dilation of his pupils, in the press of his fingers around my wrist. Maybe he was waiting for me to take charge, maybe he wasn’t sure where all this would lead in the morning.

I cleared my throat. “Do you—can I kiss you?”

His smile widened. I suppressed a wince because I knew it was a little late to be asking permission, but late was better than never.

“Yes,” Dawson replied, jaw flexing underneath my fingers.

I touched his lips a second time, but in this instance my eyelids fell closed and I inhaled. His head tilted back, mouth opening beneath mine as I pressed forward, deepening the kiss, our tongues meeting briefly, retreating, meeting again. It was a dance, the first few steps exploratory.

But as heat flared, my cock hardening, my fingers tightened their grip on his jaws and the dance morphed into a battle.

I pulled Dawson flush against my body, hands roving down his body to grip his hips, looping into the leather belt he wore. Spinning with him in my arms, I backed him almost blindly against the wall, slapping my hands on either side of his head as my crotch ground into his.

He gasped, hands reaching up to tangle in my hair. Tightly. As laid back as he was, the omega made his lust known.

“Bedroom,” he gasped against my mouth.

His lips glistened; it took a moment to tear my eyes away. “What?” He’d said something, right?

“Beeedrooom.” He drawled out the syllables.

“Right.”

I could fuck him right here, right now against the wall, but I sensed he needed, wanted, more care than that. If this was our first time together, I had to make a good showing for myself.

I didn’t want it to be the first and the last.

His hand slipped into mine, the gesture all the more touching for its casual intimacy. We walked the short hall silently, and I paused in front of my bedroom door, giving him that split second to retreat before pushing the door open and pulling him inside.

“Wyatt,” he whispered. The sound of my name on his lips… I don’t know how we ended up on the bed, my body braced over his. My mind blanked, body taking over.

I cursed. “Damn, we still have our shoes on.”

He laughed up at me. “And all our clothes.” Placing his hands on my chest, he pushed, eyes never leaving mine as his half hesitant, half teasing smile continued to stoke the flames of my lust. The need, the craving to make him mine engulfed everything else. I stood long enough to kick off my shoes, pull my shirt over my head.

Dawson sighed. “I guess we’ll save the striptease for next time.”

I paused, about to push my jeans down, and slowed the motion, trying to draw out his pleasure and my own using anticipation of the big reveal. And then my mind tripped on the ‘next time.’

“There’ll be a next time?”

Two best friends reunite and discover they could be something more in this mpreg, gay-for-you, second chance romance.

Cody

I left home a decade ago to get away from my crush on my straight best friend. Traveling the world helped me get over him, and now that I’m back to take care of my uncle, I should be immune. Except I’m not. I want him as much as I did before, but this time is different. This time, he seems as interested in me as I am in him, but how can that be when he’s straight? Soon enough, his baby is inside me, but that drives us apart instead of bringing us together.

Derek

Cody was my best friend, and I always ignored any feelings that were more than friendly. It was easy then, since I was about to marry my childhood sweetheart. In the years since, I’ve learned there’s nothing sweet about Heidi, weathered a divorce, and the loss of my NFL career. I’m home again and ready for something more. Cody is just what I want, but when he gets pregnant, I know it can’t be mine because I’m infertile. Aren’t I?

Excerpt

I squinted my eyes from the sun as I tried to make out his facial features. His hard hat cast a shadow along his face that made it difficult to make out. He looked so familiar, but I couldn’t quite place him yet. It wasn’t until he took off the hat to wipe the sweat from his face that I immediately recognized him. Derek.

Just then, a car behind me leaned on the horn. I looked up to see the light had changed to green, and Derek and the other construction worker looked over at the commotion in my direction. I knew I should have just continued on my way to Pete’s, but I couldn’t resist the urge to catch up a little with Derek.

Against my better judgment, I pulled off the road and into the construction site. Derek and the others watched as I put the car into park and stepped out. I immediately recognized his voice as he called out to me.

“Hey, you can’t park here. This is a construction zone.” He passed one of the other workers the clipboard and started heading towards me.

Derek hadn’t immediately recognized me, but I couldn’t blame him. It had been ten years since I’d been back and we’d seen each other in person. Besides, it took me a few minutes to recognize him when I first saw him. I didn’t say a word as he continued to approach, but I could feel a smile starting to form on my face.

It wasn’t until he was only a few feet away that he seemed to place me. “Cody?” he asked, still sounding unsure. He froze in his spot and removed his hard hat from his head. He raised his brows as he gave me a look over. “Cody Lawton?” He still looked like he didn’t believe what he was seeing.

“Been a while, Derek. I’m surprised you recognized me,” I said, my lips now tugging into the smile I felt coming on. As much as I’d thought it was a mistake to pull over and talk to him, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little taken back that he recognized me. It had been a long time since we were face to face and nothing about the way I looked was the same as it was ten years ago. My hair was longer than before and slicked back, and I’d been hitting the gym pretty regularly. I was nowhere near as buff as Derek, but I was still in better shape than I was ten years ago. My clothing style had changed a little as well—for the better. I’d taken to watching a few episodes of The Omega’s Wardrobe and soon found my own closet going through a little bit of an upgrade from the loose graphic tees I used to always sport.

Derek said nothing for another moment, still in shock that it was actually me. Finally, a smile spread across his own face as he let out a laugh. “Well, I never thought I’d see Cody Lawton in Concord again.”

“You and me both,” I added. “Won’t be around long, though. Heading back out in a few hours.”

Derek’s smile faded as he nodded. “Going to see your Uncle Pete?” The excitement had left his voice and was now replaced with a more comforting tone.

The shift in tone from Derek’s voice surprised me a little. Pete hadn’t told me he let anyone else know about his condition, but Derek and I had been best friends since kindergarten, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he’d shared the information with him as well. “Yeah. He’s waiting for me now, so I should probably start heading back over. I saw you standing out here, so I figured I’d drop a quick hello.”

“Well, I appreciate it. Tell Pete I hope he’s feeling better.” He licked his lips before continuing, “And Cody, it was nice seeing you again. Really.”

I gave him a nod. “I’ll let him know, Derek. And it was nice seeing you again as well.”

“Alright then,” Derek said as he placed the hard hat back on his head and adjusted it a little. He gave me a smile and began walking back towards the other men.

Just as I opened the car door and took a seat, I heard him call out my name again. “Cody?”

“Yeah?” I inquired, pushing the door open a little wider so I could see him.

Derek walked back over and swung one arm over the door. “I know you said you don’t think you’ll be in town long. But if you’re feeling up to it, I was thinking of maybe grabbing a beer later at Moll’s Bar. I should be finishing up here in an hour or so. Would just need to go home and clean up a bit first.” He motioned his hand towards his body. A thin layer of dust and debris clung to his clothing. “I know you have a long drive ahead of you, though, so don’t sweat it if you can’t make it.”

I thought about it for a moment before agreeing. “Yeah, I can make it. Might be nice to catch up a little before heading home.” As soon as the words left my mouth, I regretted the decision, but it was too late to take them back now.

Derek’s face lit back up with a smile. “Well, alright then. I’ll see you there.” He leaned back off my car door and closed it shut for me.

As I started the car and pulled out of the construction zone, I rolled down my window and waved to him. Derek waved back and returned to the men still huddled over the clipboard. The rest of the drive, I tried my best not to think about Derek and how much I was still attracted to him.

Lachlan

I’m ready for a baby, but haven’t found the right alpha. Most of them are alpha-holes, and I’m tired of waiting. I don’t expect to meet a great guy when I go in to discuss my options to get pregnant without a partner, but one of the doctors in the practice is hot and seems different from the alphas I’ve met in the past. I risk letting Donovan in and start thinking about a future, but then he ghosts me. He doesn’t return calls or messages, so I give up, figuring it’s over—until I find out I’m carrying his baby. He seems to want to be involved with our child, but how can I trust him again?

Donovan

Lachlan is the perfect omega. I get close way too fast, at first ignoring my personal rule of doing no harm to my own heart. Watching my fathers’ marriage splinter has left me wary of involvement, and I don’t do long-term. When I realize I’m falling for Lachlan, I run until I find out I’m going to be a father. I only have a few months to convince Lachlan I can change, and figure out how to do that, while watching out for my omega and our unborn child.

“Well, rest assured I’ve gone through all my options over and over. This is what I want and I’m ready for all the responsibilities that come with parenthood,” I replied, glancing down at the stack of books she had placed on her desk. Her hand was resting on top of them still, but I could make out words on the cover.Updated Registry Donor Listings. My heart fluttered in my chest knowing that I was about to take the first steps into fatherhood.

Katy smiled, surely pleased that I had done my research before coming in today. “Well, that’s fantastic. If you’re sure this is what you want, you have my support and full attention. If you’re ready, shall we go ahead and move forward with your decision?”

“Please,” I said, confidently. I was ready for this and was eager to get the process started.

“Well, I know you’re probably excited to get started,” Katy said, noticing my eyes were still locked on the stack of books under her hands. “But first things first. I’m going to need you to start tracking your fertility time. This isn’t a cheap procedure, and accuracy of insemination is half the battle.”

I let out a laugh before averting my focus back to Katy. “Of course. Actually, I started a few days ago in anticipation of this meeting, so I’ll get the completed information back to you as soon as possible.”

She nodded and stood up from her chair, grabbing the stack of books in her arms. “Now, the fun part,” she said, giving me a wink. “Follow me and I’ll set you all up.”

I nearly jumped out of my seat with excitement. “After you,” I said, bowing down and swinging an arm out.

Katy let out a laugh and rolled her eyes. “Let’s go.” She gave me a pat on the shoulder and walked out of her office. I followed closely behind, trying my best not to knock into the entourage of people strolling down the crowded halls in white coats. Finally, nearing the end of the hallway, we reached a closed door. A plaque on the wall next to it denoted it as the designated room for Donor Research. She opened the door and took a step inside, holding it open for me so I could walk in behind her. “Have a seat.” She motioned to a large desk with a chair.

“So, this is where the magic happens?” I joked, taking a seat at the desk.

Rolling her eyes, Katy placed the stack of what I thought were books on the desk in front of me. Turned out, it was actually a set of three binders. “I hope you like reading, you’re in for a long day.”

I pulled the binders up to me and lined them up. I opened the first one and shuffled through a few of the pages. Each page had a picture of a different man with a little biography underneath the photo and some details typed out next to it including their name, age, and profession. Each binder must have had at least a couple hundred pages. There was no doubt in my mind that it would take at least a few hours to get through them.

Katy shuffled behind me and started sorting through a large cabinet while I skimmed through a few more of the pages. I didn’t pay much attention to her as I was absorbed by the contents of the binders. It wasn’t for a few more minutes that my attention snapped back to her when a loud thud sounded next to me.

She smiled as she tapped her hand on another pile of binders that she had just dropped on the table. “In case you get through those without a match.”

My eyes widened at the stack of binders in front of me and I could feel my jaw go slack. Well, maybe I was being optimistic about getting through all this in a few hours. “Looks like I have my work cut out for me,” I said, shutting my jaw with my hand and rubbing my chin between my thumb and index finger.

Katy smiled. “I’ll give you some space. Be sure to take your time and don’t feel like you need to get through all this today. This is a big decision and until you have your fertility time tracked we can’t progress any further anyway. So, take your time and be absolutely confident with your donor choice.”

“Thanks, Katy. For everything.”
