What personal data is collected, why and for how long?

Comments and Likes

When visitors leave comments on the site, the data shown in the comment form is collected in addition to the visitor’s IP address and the browser’s user agent string. This is to help facilitate detection of spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address can be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The privacy policy of the Gravatar service is available here . Your profile picture (or the standard image in the case of anonymous comments) is visible to the public along with the actual comment left.

WordPress users can also leave a like on a post. In these cases, the username of each person that leaves a like will be stored and displayed on the post, along with their profile picture. This remains indefinitely, or until the user removes their like.

If you leave a comment on the site, you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. They are used for your convenience so you do not have to re-enter your data when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for a year.

If you have an account and access this site, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain personal data and is deleted when you close the browser.
