Let Your Heart Decide

 

I shot my head back, scanning the darkness for the strange figure.

Nothing.

I remained frozen for several minutes, not daring to turn my back on whatever or whoever was out there. My blood thrummed through my body; the pulse of my racing heart beat loud in my ears.

Idiot. Go back inside. There’s no one there.

Bats flitted in the darkening sky. Clouds now covered the moon. A cool breeze stirred through the branches and ruffled my hair.

Still I waited.

See, nothing to be scared of out here.

Myles would have been impressed.

Fuck Myles.
