This week’s Rainbow Snippet is taken from my taboo story
Leaves rustled on the ground on the other side of the stone wall.
Yet there was no breeze on this calm evening. The branches remained still.
Yes, there it was again—definitely movement. Perhaps a cat or some other animal scurrying around.
I sat up in the chair, alert, my back erect. Not that I was the nervous type. Myles would have laughed and called me a fucking wuss. I huffed. He’d have probably been right.
