Warren Blake is an accountant at the pinnacle of his career. After accepting a new position he decides to settle in the scenic Cotswold village of Walmsley Hackett.  A village with a colourful history of myth, old wives tales and mystery.

One morning during his train ride into work, Warren notices a small quaint church which he becomes enchanted with. Curiousity compels him to find the church and when he finally does, he discovers an unmarked grave in the corner. Feeling sorry for its occupant, Warren becomes a frequent visitor.

Little does he know that the young man inside the coffin needs a champion and Warren is chosen.

What follows involves a ghostly medieval joust, witchcraft, love, and Warren risking his life.

Secret of The Manor

The men were relaxed, almost dozing off as they ambled through a small walled field, when Warren noticed something strange. Despite there being plenty of flowers, a few bushes, and a dozen trees, not a single bird flew within the field’s borders. They occupied the flora outside its walls, but not one feathered animal ventured inside. The sensations invading Warren’s subconscious were not of eerie evil emanating from the dark side, however. They were ones of respectful space. It was as if someone had kicked the kids out of the house, turned the volume down, placed a glass of wine in one’s hand, and said, “Enjoy the quiet.”

When Warren looked over to Carl, the man had his eyes shut, serenely enjoying the surroundings. Even the horses seemed to tiptoe through the grass. Only bees pollinated the dandelions, daisies, and other meadow flowers. Warren himself could feel his heartbeat laze as if he’d had enough wine to relax but not enough to be tipsy.

“Why is it so quiet in here?” Warren whispered while looking for other signs of life.

Carl took a deep breath, opened his laughter-lined eyes, and pointed to the raised areas of the field. “Those mounds are believed to be Saxon burials.” He chuckled. “We can’t bring that gelding, Dusty, through here. He tries to lie down before we get to the gate at the other end.” Carl spoke like the scene was as natural as walking around the supermarket. Briefly, Warren imagined Carl around Tesco’s. The man wasn’t fat, but he was by no means thin. He enjoyed the comfort of a belly filled with his favourite foods. He’d hang onto the trolley, grumbling and limping his way around on a leg that had been kicked a few times over the years. Then he’d run his hands through the grey hair of his receding hairline that he covered with his flat cap. Warren smiled to himself before he stopped his musings and continued with his enquiries.

“Why don’t you get the Time Team in to find out for sure?”

Carl turned serious. “No. It’s not good to disturb the bones of the dead. It upsets ’em.”

Taylin Clavelli lives in the United Kingdom, about 15 miles south of Birmingham, and a short journey from the world famous Cadbury’s Chocolate factory. She’s married with children and loves her family with all her heart.

Her love of books has been a long standing affair, with Taylin liking nothing better than to lose herself in an imaginary world.

Until she met Lily Velden, she never considered trying her hand at writing. However, after talking ideas, Lily encouraged her to put pen to paper—or rather, fingers to keyboard. Since, with a few virtual kicks in the right place, she hasn’t stopped. Her confidence eventually led to her writing an original work for submission.

Her first published work was Boys, Toys, and Carpet Fitters, developed for the Dreamspinner Press Anthology – Don’t Try This At Home.

Now she absolutely adores immersing herself into the characters she creates, and transferring the pictures in her brain to paper, finding it liberating, therapeutic, and wonderful.

Outside of writing, her interests include; martial arts (she’s a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwon-do), horse-riding, all of which facilitates her love of a wide variety of movies. Her action heroes include Jet Li and Tony Jaa—finding the dedication these men have for their art combined with their skill both amazing and a privilege to watch. If pressed, she’ll admit to thinking that the screen entrance of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean – Curse of the Black Pearl, and Shadowfax in LOTR, to be the greatest screen entrances ever. Her all-time favorite movies are Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

The simple things in life that make her day, putting a smile on her face are:

Laughter – especially that of her children.

The smell of lasagna cooking – it makes her mouth salivate.

The dawn chorus – no symphony ever written can beat the waking greetings of the birds.

Young, handsome, sometimes cruel. Noah Kress is a hardened broker, skilled enough to bring success to his company and determined to face the ever-growing challenges of the venture capital market. In his private life he is Master Noah, a very popular dominator at the Circle, one of the most exclusive private clubs in Boston. For him, at work as well as in the dungeon, people and events are just variables to be interpreted, numbers to be broken down, combinations to consider and evaluate.

But when the latest, most difficult deal threatens to make his company sink without trace, his only chance seems to be the large investment fund managed by the mysterious Martin Scheer. And in order to provide credit, Martin demands a very special guarantee.

For both of them it’s just business. Yet, what was supposed to be a mere contract might just shatter the perfect surface of their lives.

And will talented player Noah be willing to gamble following brand new rules?

Due to m/m mature content, this book is recommended for an adult audience.

cropped-Rainbow-Header copy 6

He’d like to be a limb ripped from Martin’s body with a knife, making him bleed, not just a business partner, nothing more than a name doomed to fade along with their contract.

He couldn’t accept being only one in a line of numbers, scrolling up and down between traitorous, fickle indexes on any given day at the stock market. He wanted to be the Amount, the ultimate Title for a man who loved Oolong tea, lived between Hong Kong and a villa in the countryside outside Boston and carefully built models of battles that had been fought and won centuries ago.

Even though it was a selfish wish, if he had to become nothing but a memory for Martin Scheer, he would have liked to at least hurt him a bit.

Guest Post ~ Teodora Kostova ~ Interview and Review

Many thanks to Teodora Kostova

who stopped by to answer a few questions about her writing.

piece_by_piece_cover_small

How long have you been writing?

Pretty much all my life. I never took it seriously, though. I never actually finished a story until I was in my late 20s. I’d start something, plot it out, write a few chapters and then lose interest. I lacked the discipline to push through and keep going.

What made you decide you wanted to put yourself out there to be published?

I have no idea! Insanity, probably. I was so proud of myself when I finally managed to finish a whole novel that I wanted to share it with the world, I guess.

Your first published book?

I was the first part of a YA trilogy called Humanless. Currently, it’s out of print, but I have plans to rewrite parts of it and eventually republish it.

What is your favorite sub genre to write?

Contemporary Romance.

Is there one genre you haven’t tried but you see yourself writing in the future?

Yes – action thriller. I even have something in mind for the near future.

Would you ever write a hetero romance? Why or why not?

I have written hetero romance. My first adult novel, In a Heartbeat, was published in 2013 and it’s been very successful all around the world, currently being translated and published by different publishers in Brazil, France, Canada and Bulgaria among other countries. For me, the gender of the people in a couple is irrelevant. I write about heterosexual couples, as well as gay ones. Love is love, right?

What is your opinion on the “chicks with dicks” analogy? In your opinion, is it wrong for your males to be emotional or romantic?

I dislike that expression. Every person is different and I really don’t like stereotypes. In my experience, there are as many emotional, romantic, kind men out there (not always gay, btw) as there are cruel, indifferent, closed off women without a romantic bone in their bodies. It always surprises me when someone crams 7 billion people on this planet into a tiny category and expects everyone to act and feel the same way.

What are your thoughts on erotica?

I love it.

If you write gay romance or erotica, just how descriptive are you in their sex scenes?

Very. I don’t hold back at all.

As a gay fiction or m/m romance author, do you feel that the trend is changing where it is becoming more mainstream?

I do. We see more and more m/m romance authors in the top 100 of the whole Kindle store, and that’s pretty amazing.

Do you believe it’s important for you to know the gender of the author?

Not at all. A good book is a good book, regardless of who wrote it. I’ve read amazing books written by female authors, pretty bad books written by gay male authors, and anything in between.

Recently, a writer sabotaged her career by answering a bad review on a blog. How would you have handled this and do you think authors should answer their reviews?

I never engage in conversations with reviewers. It doesn’t matter if the review is good or bad. I rarely read them anymore. Reviews are for readers, not for authors. In my opinion, authors should stay away from review sites and never debate someone’s review in public.

What is your stance on the difference between male and female gay writers?

I honestly don’t see how this is even an issue. Why is everyone so obsessed with the gender of the author? I’ve read brilliant books about gay men written by a transgender person, and amazing books about gay men written by a lesbian author. I really don’t understand why the gender of the author matters. It makes no difference to me whatsoever.

What is it about gay fiction and or m/m romance that pleasures you to write it?

You mean besides hot guys making out? I don’t really know… It’s all stories to me, gay or not. I’ve enjoyed writing all my stories and all my characters.

What is your stance on issues in society like same sex marriage etc.?

I hope in a few years’ time it won’t even be an issue. Everyone should be able to lead their life as they please and have equal rights.

What is your opinion about some review sites not accepting m/m books?

I guess everyone is allowed to run their website as they please, right? I know plenty of review sites accepting exclusively m/m romance books and turning hetero romance books away. Reviewers put a lot of time and effort into reading and writing reviews, so they should be able to read what they enjoy, not being force-fed something they’d hate.

Fun questions

Name two male celebs that you’d like to see in a hot make out session?

Oh, my! How do I choose!!! OK, I’ll have to go for Taylor Kitsch and Joe Manganiello.

Your favorite gay TV show or movie?

TV show: It’s not exactly a gay show, but I love Modern Family! There was a show called The New Normal which I adored! It was so funny! Unfortunately it got cancelled… As for a film, I love Free Fall and August.

Your favorite gay celeb?

I love Olly Alexander from Years&Years.

Have you attended a pride parade? If so, where you inspired when doing so?

Yes! I go to the London Pride every year, the last 2 years with my husband and my kid. We always have a lot of fun! This year I also went to the Munich Pride parade, and even took part in the actual parade with everyone else attending the Euro Pride Con. It was an amazing experience! There were all kinds of people supporting the parade, waving at us and cheering – men, women, families, children, old, young… It was really inspirational. Ooh, I was a steward at London Pride this year. Perhaps we can meet up next June. xx

What are you currently working on?

I’m currently working on a stand alone novel about an ex soldier turned baker, and hopefully I’ll start working on a Christmas story very soon as well.

~O~

Jared Hartley is happy. He has a starring role in a popular West End musical, great friends, adoring fans and his own flat in Central London. A relationship is not something he has ever really wanted. Making big plans for the future is not in his nature – Jared is content with his single status and enjoying all the benefits of that lifestyle.

He doesn’t even realise something is missing in his life.

Until he meets Fenix.

Fenix Bergman has a dream – to perform on Broadway. When he gets offered the lead role in Poison – a new musical based in London, he accepts, immediately recognising the huge potential of the show.

Fenix thinks he has his life completely figured out – he will move to London, help Poison become the new West End hit and bide his time until Broadway comes knocking on his door. He has never wished for anything else but proving to himself and the world that he is a performer worthy of the biggest theatre stage.

Until he meets Jared.

Jared and Fenix’s lives collide and they fill each other’s missing pieces. Neither of them expects to feel so much, so fast for the other.

Neither of them expects to need someone so badly when love hasn’t even been in their plans.

But when Fenix’s star becomes too bright for London, will the dream he’s chased all his life ruin the dream he’s holding in his hands?

Will he survive getting everything he’s ever wanted?

Will Jared?

Audio Book Review

4*

Jared and Fenix fall hard and fast from the start. It’s a case of love or lust at first sight when the two stars share a dressing room at the Queen Vic theatre in London. There’s an intense connection between them as they fall into bed and in love. The two young men are inseparable and share many hot and steamy scenes together. You sense their happiness and the desire to live in each other’s pockets. On the whole, things move swiftly and easily for them. I especially liked the friction and jealousy between Adam—Jared’s best friend—and Fenix.

Everything is wonderful as they live together and share their lives, but of course, this is shattered when Fenix gets his Broadway dream fulfilled. Almost without a second thought for their relationship, he accepts and all contact between the two lovers ceases. Jared didn’t fight for him either. They both place their careers first. I found it hard to understand why they gave up on their relationship immediately and didn’t even remain in contact as friends. It made me question their love and want to bash their heads together. But that’s all part of the angst and sorrow. Deep down, they knew they loved each other and wanted to be together, but it took over two years of heartache and tears before they are eventually reunited. This part of this story is relatively short, but for me it was the most emotional. I would have liked further scenes showing how the two men suffered while they were apart.

More drama follows as the story reaches it ending. The epilogue jumps eight years ahead and is a little at odds with most of the story and their characters, but by then these two men had matured and had new dreams for their future.

The narration of the story by Todd Smith works well for Teodora’s storytelling style of writing. He speaks clearly and narrates at a steady pace. His voice suits the West End setting and the various characters’ personalities. He helped bring them to life for me.

Overall, I enjoyed listening to this engaging story. I am intrigued to hear Adam’s story next in Mask and would like to know more of his thoughts on Jared and Fenix’s relationship. I hope he gets his happy ever after too.

What does it cost to sell yourself? Your body? Your heart? Your soul?

At eighteen, with no job, no money, and a young sister to care for, becoming an escort seemed the perfect answer, but by the age of twenty four, Dominque is left wondering how he can break free of his ‘short term’ solution.

Jacob is at the top of his profession, leaving him with no time or desire for a relationship. Caring for another person full time isn’t on his agenda, but that soon changes when fate steps in and offers him the chance of something more.

Unable to forget the intriguing brunette after their first date, Jacob is enticed to spend more time with Dominque, seeking to put the pain of the past behind them, and bring peace to the wounded bird who captivated him so easily.

It’s not just the clients who pay.

cropped-Rainbow-Header copy 6

Jacob pressed his face into the messy tumble of hair in front of him, smelling the unique sensual scent of Dominque, trying to ignore the need inside him to pull him backwards and cage him in his arms while he ground his cock into those firm cheeks.

“Jacob.” Dominque’s silken voice purred into the otherwise silent room.

“Dominque.” Jacob smiled.

“I missed you last night.”

Jacob moved closer, draping an arm over Dominque’s stomach and splaying his fingers out over the taut, smooth flesh beneath them. “Well, that makes being apart from you much more bearable. To be missed by you, to know you lay here thinking of me, wanting me to be with you, it makes the unpleasant act of not being beside you more tolerable.”

He placed a soft, barely there kiss on the flawlessly smooth flesh found just under Dominque’s ear. “Would it make you happy if I told you all I could think about was you, about returning to this room and taking you into my arms, holding you while I kissed every inch of this marvellous body of yours until you were lying limp and breathless in my arms, unable to voice how much you needed me to stop?”

He placed a deeper kiss in the same spot, this time licking the sweet skin before continuing. “How every breath I took was wasted because you weren’t there to share it. How every beat of my heart only reminded me how useless it was to continue without having you beside me.”

“Jacob…” Dominque glanced over his shoulder, heavy lids half covering the seductive wide brown eyes beneath them, black lashes curling, tickling his skin as he blinked, centering his alluring gaze on Jacob. “You’re making it difficult to keep to our no sex rule.”

“I’ll think you’ll find—” He placed an open-mouthed kiss to the same spot under Dominque’s ear. “—it’s you who is making things very hard to ignore that particular rule.” His cock was rigid and aching, pulsing against Dominque’s cheeks. “I hurt I want you that much. It physically pains me to be this close to you and not have you.”

“Then take me,” Dominque breathed out. “Please. I want you too, Jacob.” He pressed backwards, rocking onto Jacob’s cock, making him groan deep and long against his supple skin.

Jacob moved his hand lower, finding the band of Dominque’s shorts and toying with them before he worked his palm further, finding his cock was just as stiff as his. “Dominque… Jesus.”

“I need you. Please.”

Jacob couldn’t stop years of lust from filling him up. The man he’d been waiting for all his adult life was laid beside him, begging him to touch him. How could he refuse such sweet words?
